ACTIVATED CHARCOAL - The Black Sponge Most people think of a backyard cookout when they
hear the word charcoal. But to an herbalist, charcoal is an important
supplement. Man has used charcoal for over 2,000 years because of its
ability to absorb poisons and help remove them from the body.
Activated Charcoal is highly absorbent. It has been to help with chemical poisoning
(as in drug overdoses), severe diarrhea as it absorbs irritants and
toxins in the digestive tract, food poisoning and for severe gas and bloating.
It may also be use topically as a poultice to help pull the meanness out
of inscet and spider bites. It may also help lower cholesterol
levels.
USER CARE: Charcoal can interfere with the assimilation of medicines and nutrients.
Therefore, do not take with prescription and medications. Do not take charcoal for more than a
few days at a time. Drink plenty of water. Large doses of charcoal may cause constipation. In the case
of poisoning or drugs overdoses, contact your poison control center and follow their recommendations.
